An event is being held on Monday 17th January between 11am and 1pm for local firms to find out how they can get involved in retrofitting the first and second floors of Westgate Department Store to create a national example of sustainability.
Green charity Peterborough Environment City Trust (PECT) along with the Eco-Innovation Centre and Anglia Co-operative Society are seeking the help of expert local firms to retrofit approximately 1,150 square meters of office space to create an exciting, innovative and sustainable workspace. The aim is to create a national case study of environmental best practice for an office retrofit.

Operations Manager from PECT Rachel Huxley explained, “Our aim is to take the space on the 1st and 2nd floor of Westgate House and turn it into a best practice example of how to an existing building can be retrofitted to make it environmentally friendly. We want the best and most suitable environmental technologies to be part of the redevelopment.”

Lucy Robins from Anglia Co-operative said “As a nationally important case study we’ll be looking to maintain a long term ‘open door’ policy with all the technologies and products on display for visiting professionals and to publish and distribute a Best Practice Report for national circulation.

“The event on the 17th January will give attendees the chance to view the premises and discuss how their products and services with a view to becoming part of this exciting project. We’re keen to get as many local firms involved as possible.”
